Week of May 18 - 20 LAST WEEK!! I can't believe it's almost over! You guys have been great - thank you for your continued efforts in this very unprecedented time! I have loved the Egg Drop videos - keep them coming! EVERYTHING THAT IS FOR A GRADE MUST BE COMPLETED BY TODAY, MAY 18! New "stuff" for this week is for fun - Paper Airplanes! There are a few videos on Bernoulli's Principle which explains how planes get their "lift" - then there is a document that has several different airplane "plans" (OR there are a multitude of how-to videos on paper airplanes on YouTube if you prefer) - if you choose to participate, post a pic or video of your plane(s) on the Padlet! Last, but not least, PLEASE take a moment to complete the "Science Class Survey" - it is completely anonymous but it is very helpful to me as a teacher - I learn from my students every day and hopefully, it makes me a little better every year - I value your input! I wish you guys all the best as you move on to high school - I know you'll do great and if there is ever anything I can help you with in the future - science, math, job recommendation, opinion on your new haircut or if you just want to say "hey" - please don't hesitate to text or e-mail me - I'm here! Love ya lots! Mrs. H
Week of May 11 - 14 WEEK 8 OF DIGITAL LEARNING
Monday - go back and review your notes on Newton's Laws of Motion from last week - click on the button for your class and take the formative (10 questions) THIS IS FOR A GRADE! I hope to really see some of you this week!

Tuesday - Thursday - Egg Drop Project! This is FOR A GRADE, but completely optional... Check out the video - there are lots of videos/ideas out there... make sure you follow the parameters in the instructions! Post your project video on the appropriate padlet for your block!
Week of May 4 - 8 WEEK 7 OF DIGITAL LEARNING
Monday - To help review acceleration due to gravity, please watch the videos below. Remember, the weight or mass of an object does not affect how fast an object falls to Earth. Objects dropped in a vacuum will fall to Earth at exactly the same time. The shape of the object may cause air resistance (an opposing force) and the air resistance affects how fast an object falls to Earth. There is also a Quizizz (code: 586027) to help prepare for the formative tomorrow!

Tuesday - Click on the button for your class and take the formative (HIS IS FOR A GRADE) on Friction and Gravity (it is in Forms). Please make sure you do the review Quizizz first - it will help! After the formative, do the BrainPop assignment on Newton's Laws of Motion - watch the video and take the quiz (NOT for a grade).
Wednesday - use the guided notes page to help you take notes from the Bozeman science video (or take notes on notebook paper) - the second video is a little shorter and "simplified" but you need to know the the wording of the laws...
Thursday - use the graphic organizer to help ORGANIZE the notes on Newton's Laws! Next, either print out the worksheet or just write down your answers to practice recognizing which law is being described - I will post the answers Friday morning. The video is just for fun!
Week of April 27 - May 1 WEEK 6 OF DIGITAL LEARNING
Monday - watch the video to review friction - it's 22 minutes and little "goofy", but it gets the point across! There is also a Quizizz for your review (code 017797). Tomorrow we start gravity - there will be a graded assignment on gravity this week and a graded formative on friction and gravity next week! Let me know if you have questions!

Tuesday - download and print the guided notes and fill them in as you go through the power point for the notes on gravity - if you can't print, just take notes on paper!
Wednesday - Hey guys! Watch the video on Mass vs. Weight - think about what it would be like to go bowling on the moon - would it be easier or harder to lift the bowling ball? THEN, click on your class' respective button for the link to the BrainPop assignments - watch the movie and take the quiz. THIS IS FOR A GRADE!
Thursday - There are links to two interactive websites related to gravity. The first one is Phet (which you've used before in class) - the second one is Gizmos. You will first need to "enroll" on the Gizmo site and use the code provided to join my class so you have access to the simulation - keep your username and password simple so you will remember it - we may use this website again! Follow the directions - email/text me if you have problems or questions. For both activities, you do not need to print the instructions - just open the document and toggle between it and the website - no need to turn anything in - this is optional to help strengthen your understanding of gravity before the formative next week!
Week of April 20 - 23 WEEK 5 OF DIGITAL LEARNING!
Monday - download/print out the Guided Notes pages and then fill them in as you watch the Introduction to Forces Notes power point - if you are not able to print the guided notes, simply take notes on notebook paper as you read through the power point. There is also an optional Forces Review worksheet. The answers to the worksheet will be posted tomorrow morning and there will be a GRADED formative assignment tomorrow through Forms on Microsoft 365.

Thursday - Today you will go to the Phet website and use a simulation to help see the effect friction has on motion. If possible, print out the worksheet and fill it in as you go. If you cannot print, keep the window open so you have directions to refer to and put your responses on notebook paper. If you haven't completed the Forces Formative from Tuesday - it is for a grade! You have until the end of the day Friday to complete it! Let me know if you have questions!

So we are starting our unit on Force and Motion... it is important that you do the assignments to the best of your ability so that when we return, you are where you need to be! I'm just an e-mail or text away if you have questions or just want to say "hey"!
Monday - I am giving you links to a Bill Nye video, a YouTube video and a powerpoint… you need to understand the following concepts: What is motion? What is position? What is the difference between distance and displacement? What is speed? What are the different "types" of speed? How is speed calculated? What is velocity and how is it different from speed?
